Sudan News: Dictatorial regime of Sudan to hand over killers of the American diplomatLatest Sudan News: A Sudanese TV news scrollbar scripted urgent news yesterday saying that the Sudanese government (well-formed regime from seeds of the National Islamic Front and the joined rebels of the South) will hand over suspected terrorist cell accused of killing the American diplomat in Khartoum on the New Year.A group called Companions of Monotheism (Ansar al-Tawhid) has claimed responsibility of killing the US diplomat saying that members of the group shot the 33-year-old John Granville and his Sudanese driver Abdel Rahman Abbas. American investigators and agents from FBI have travelled to Sudan to investigate the killings. Sudanese foreign minister has described the shooting to the media saying that it was an isolated incident, which has no political connotations. The Sudanese media has quoted officials saying there is no evidence the killing was an act of terrorism. The US relations with Sudan have been tense for decades and the tension has escalated because of the violence in Sudanese Darfur region. The shooting of the American diplomat happened the day after a joint United nations-African Union force took over peacekeeping in Darfur.
